Come to Lanesboro and Ballyleague this Saturday (July 14) and join in the fun at the annual Lanesboro Triathlon Club’s Sprint Triathlon. The event will consist of a 750m swim, a 20km cycle and a scenic 5km run on the banks of the River Shannon finishing in Lanesboro.
For the younger people, the club is running a kids’ triathlon on the same day, starting at 9am. This race is open to children between eight and 15 years old. The race consists of a 100m swim; 1km bike on a closed road followed by a 500m run on grass. All race day information on registration and start times for all events can be viewed on www.trilanesboro.com
Sponsored by Audi Athlone (Michael Moore Car Sales), the Two Provinces Sprint Triathlon is capped at 250 participants. Athletes can enter either as an individual at €45 or as part of a relay team at €60 by clicking on www.trilanesboro.com/register/. Organisers have advised that places are going fast.
