The annual pioneers dinner dance will be held on Friday, November 13 in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule. Music on the night by TR Dallas and his band. Tickets cost 25 euro pp available from any committee member or Geraldine Clarke, Tel 086 3265655. Non members are very welcome.

Knit and stitch

A bus will be collecting persons who wish to attend the knit and stitch show on Saturday, November 14th 2015 at 8pm from the Axis Centre Longford and returns at 6pm. Cost of bus fares ICA members 5 euro. Non members 10 euro. Everyone is very welcome.

Church notes

St Mary’s Ennybegs, Masses Wednesday/ Thursday at 10am, Friday (Thomas Gray and son Thomas Ennybegs) at 7.30pm. Saturday 8pm, Sunday 11am. Exposition blessed sacrament in both churches Wednesdays 6-9. Offertory building fund envelopes will be distributed soon. Any families wishing to receive a one envelope box please advise Fr Sean. Holy souls month of November one mass offered weekly. You may place a list of departed relatives in boxes at front of altar in each church.


The parish extend sincere sympathy to the Kane families, Aughnashannagh, Ballinalee, extended families, friends, neighbours on the sad bereavement of their mother Mary (nee O’Shea, formerly Glengarriff, Co Cork) who was laid to rest last week. Also extended condolence to Mary Devaney, Corneddan, Killoe and families, Rogers families, Ballyleague, extended families, friends neighbours on the sad bereavement of Mary’s brother, Anthony Rogers, Ballyleague who was laid to rest last week. Also expressed condolence to the McManus families, Gortletteragh, Mel McManus and families, Corneddan, Killoe, extended families, friends, neighbours on the sudden sad bereavement of Noel McManus, Gortletteragh who was laid to rest this week. May all their souls rest peacefully.

St Joseph’s

Mass for the Holy Souls will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Care Centre on Thursday, November 12 at 6pm for all deceased in the care centre within the past year, all in house removals from St Joseph’s . Everyone is very welcome.

Birthday greetings

To Eugene Caherly, Micknagh, Killoe who just strolled out on Saturday night for a wee dram in Begleys pub, Aughaboy and there he was shocked into submission with a host of families and friends ready to celebrate his big birthday bash. We extend good wishes to Eugene, Geraldine and families for many many years of further surprises. Happy 50th birthday Eugene.

Community Games

Community Games draughts is starting up this Thursday, 12th November from 7-8pm in Cullyfad Community Centre. Draughts is an enjoyable activity for boys and girls giving their minds a great mental workout. The age categories are U10, U12, U14 and U16. New players are welcome. Just turn up! The committee wish to express our sincere sympathies to the Lynch family on the sad passing away of Con Lynch. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Theresa, daughters Marie, Catherine and Anna and all their family at this sad time.
