Pub opening

Pub opening

Having been closed for two years, the village pub finally re-opened on Tuesday the 31st of March, under the ownership of Gary and Síle Mulvihill.

The proprietors thank the local community for their support and good wishes over the past few weeks and look forward to meeting all in ‘The Local’

The two year closure has given the people of Cashel long enough to comprehend the absence of this vital element of village fabric. Gary and Sile have taken the initiative. It is now up to us, the community of Cashel and wider to reciprocate. There will be live music this Saturday night the 4th of April by The Dollar Daly and on Sunday night the 5th by Albatross. We wholeheartedly wish Gary and Sile the very best in their new venture.

Newtowncashel Community games are holding a Monster Auction at 1pm on Sunday 19th of April in the Hall in Newtowncashel. We will be using the funds raised to purchase much needed sports equipment in order for the children of the parish to be able to participate in Events and Activities. Your support will be greatly appreciated and we hope you can help by donating something for sale on the day or purchasing a bargain. We are looking for quality items such as Firewood, DIY and garden tools, Toys, Books, DVD’s, Paintings, Household Goods, Vouchers etc. to be auctioned on the day. All items considered. We are also looking for Cakes, buns, jams, tarts etc. that can be sold separately. Items can be dropped to the Hall any time after 12 noon on Saturday the 18th of April.
