Tidy Towns

Tidy Towns

Well done to all involved in Killashee Tidy Towns endeavours as Killashee’s score increased by ten (10) points in this year’s competition. This was a great achievement, the second highest increase in the county. Our near neighbours Lanesboro registered the highest points increase not only in the county but also in the country. Killashee Tidy Towns Committee would like to thank all who volunteered their time to help, to those businesses and individuals who made donations and to our Fás and Tús workers for all their work. Planning and work for next years competition commences soon and new volunteers are always welcome.

Gathering Mass

The Gathering Mass was held last weekend, on Saturday 14th September in St. Brendan’s Church, Clondra and on Sunday 15th September in St. Patrick’s Church, Killashee. These special masses were an opportunity to recall all those relatives and friends who had emigrated over the years and also to remember those who are no longer with us. All names were displayed for the masses and remembered in prayer. Both masses were followed by refreshments and a get together for all present. The occasion proved to be a great community event. A big thank you to Fr Nigel Charles and the Pastoral Council, who have worked for months organising the masses, to Siobhan Casey for the beautiful music and singing, all who baked and catered for everyone. Thank you also to John L. Farrell and Seadna Ryan of Lanesboro Tourism for all their help.

Speedy recovery

Best wishes for a very speedy recovery is extended to all those who are in hospital or unwell at the moment.
