Fr. Manning Gaels Cardiac Screening: Fr. Manning Gaels is currently organising a cardiac screening service (Healthy Hearts, Healthy Lives) to help prevent sudden death in young people which may lead to ‘Sudden Adult Death Syndrome’. The service is open to everyone in the Parish, male and female aged 14 to 40. Under 16’s need parental consent and anyone over 40 should have no medical history relating to their heart. The cost is €45 per person. It is hoped to arrange a date suitable for as many people as possible in the Clubhouse. This is an invaluable service. Drumlish Library: Wednesday 18th July Drumlish Library, 12pm Puppet Show ‘The town with no story’ featuring characters from story books including ‘Bookie Wookie’ Entertaining Puppet Show with the Kids Party Club (Ages 3 – 8); Saturday 21st July, Drumlish Library 11am, Olympic Arts & Crafts. Come along and create some Olympic memories, get crafty in your local library (Arts & Crafts), Ages 6-10 years.
Benefit Dance: A Benefit Dance for the family of the late Dermot Harte who died tragically following a road accident on May 13th will take place in the Kilbracken Arms Hotel Carrigallen on Friday 20th July. Doors open at 9pm. Music on the night by Evening Star, Night Fever, and Noel Cassidy. Marquee: The Marquee in Drumlish Festival 2012 will be launched in Gallagher’s Drumlish on Tuesday night July 24th. Artists appearing at the Marquee will be in attendance. This year’s Festival runs from Friday Aug 17th to Sunday Aug 19th with The Saw Doctors, Mike Denver and Bressie among some of the acts playing. Tickets for Friday and Sunday night are available from The Music Centre, Ballymahon St Longford.
