The final of the Ballinamore Cup sponsored by the Ballinamore Dart League was played last Friday night in Pat O’Tooles Fenagh, the finalist were last year’s winners McGirl’s and runners up Shortt’s (A). This year the tables were turned, Shortt’s (A) winning on a score line of (5) games to (3) in a very exciting final, well done to Shortt’s, hard luck to McGirl’s. Thanks to everyone for supporting our Raffle, thanks also to Liz and Pat for the lovely hot food, thanks to Connor Scollan and Ingrid McCaffrey for marking the games, and to Jim Holohan for looking after raffle. The teams who took part in the final were McGirl’s. Richard McDermott, Paul McKenna, Michael McGirl, Gerry Mahon, Andy Ralph, Eamon Bension, Joe McGirl. Jimmy Walsh, Gregory McGovern, Tony McHugh, Eugene McGuire, Colm McGirl. Shortt’s lined out with Daithi Reilly, Simon Bevis, Junior McGuigan, Dale Hogan, Richard Venton, Shane O’Neill, Christy Reilly, John Rudden, Vernon Donohoe, Declan Timmons, Aiden Rudden and Charlie McGuigan. The final competition of the year will be held next Friday night in Jackie’s Bar. This competition is for our younger players, they must not be over 25 years of age. It is confined to anyone under 25 years of age who have played in the Ballinamore League this year.

Whist Drive

Ballinamore Monthly Whist Drive will be held in the Community Centre this coming Thursday 2nd at 9pm. Everyone welcome.


Ballinamore Post Primary School Magazine is on sale in local shops. This production is an important record of events during the school year and is a must-have for many. Numbers are limited so get your copy soon.

Training on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. continues until primary school holidays. Three club members have qualified to compete in the All Ireland Schools Championships in Tullamore on Saturday next. The club Annual Sports take place as usual on Bank Holiday Monday at 2.30.p.m. with events for all age groups.

The next meeting takes place on Thursday June 9th at 3pm in Tráthnóna. Speaker from the Marie Keating Foundation on Cancer Prevention. Every welcome, members and non members.
