Well done to all the boys and girls who took part in the Art and Handwriting competitions. A great turn out from all the boys and girls in the parish. Defibrillator Group

Defibrillator training will re-commence in February. People due to do their two year re-certification will be contacted by text soon. When contacted please reply by text to confirm you will attend training. A class for new people wishing to learn the skills of CPR and how to use a defibrillator will take place during February 2015.Anybody from sixteen up can complete this course. The Carrickedmond pastoral group will hold their next monthly meeting in the parish house Carrickedmond on Monday night the 9th February at 8pm. All members please attend.


The next Reparation and Adoration vigil to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary will take place in the Chapel of Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown, on the first Friday, the 6th of February, commencing at 10pm with the Holy rosary and Confession followed by Mass in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There are nine offices of prayer recited throughout the night with time for quiet prayer also. The vigil concludes after Benediction and the 6am mass. This is a wonderful opportunity to pray, do penance, and to spend the night in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. All are welcome. For further information contact 086 0405621 or 0861900640.

Social Dancing

Takes place every Saturday night from 9pm to 11pm in Cooney’s hotel, Ballymahon. This night is proving to be a very popular night for social dancing lovers with the best of music provided on the night. Everyone welcome and admission is €5.


To Dermot York, formally Toom and now living with his family in New York who was announced and presented recently with the New York Longford club GAA person of the year award. This was a great achievement for Dermot who has been a trojan worker for the New York club both on and off the field. To add to the occasion Dermot’s family members in Carrickedmond travelled over for the occasion and according to reports a great night of celebration was had by all. Congratulations from all in Carrickedmond Dermot.


A collection will be taken up at all masses in the parish on weekend 14th/15th February in aid of the Lourdes Pilgrims fund. Please support.
