The recent Longford Acorn Project fun run has been described as a brilliant success, by its organisers. A total of 76 runners and walkers turned out to raise money and awareness for the local mental health project on a lovely sunny Sunday morning in the Mall.

Longford Acorn Project Ltd would like to thank everyone who took part in the run and helped raise some much needed funds and Awareness for the Project.

They would also like to give a special thanks to all who helped out on the day including the Acorn volunteers, Ollie Kelly, Brendan and Madeline Doyle for helping set the course and time keeping and to Grow Ireland for their Information table and to the Sponsors, Stone House Cash & Carry, Providers and David Reilly Fruit & Veg Market Square, Longford for their kind donations.

€820 was raised on the day and this will go a long way towards supporting their counselling service. This service provides support to those who are suffering from Mental Health issues and people who may be at risk of taking their own lives.
