Cake sale
Newtowncashel Community Games hold a cake sale and raffle this weekend in The Hill after both Masses, Saturday evening the 9th and Sunday morning the 10th.
Bar-B-Que
The annual G.A.A. Barbeque which was held in the Quarry Park last Sunday, the 3rd of August was a great success. The initial doubts regarding weather concerns proved unfounded and a great evening was had by all. Well done to all concerned on making the event so special once again.
Text Alert
A public meeting will be held in the Hill on Wednesday night the 20 August at 9pm with the view of setting up a local text alert. This is about your safety, your families safety and the safety of your parishes. It is very important that there is a large turnout on the night. Organisers Cllr Mark Casey, Mary Skelly, Declan Gilmore along with members of local Garda and Longford Text Alert expert Peter Masterson will be attending.
Collection
The Irish Kidney Association will be having their annual church gate collection throughout the county next weekend - 9th & 10th August.
Cemetery Sunday
Saint’s Island Cemetery, 24th of August. Cashel Cemetery, 31st of August. These Masses will replace the 10.30a.m. Mass in the Church.
Pattern day
Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady well, Derrydarragh on Saturday, the 6th of September. Mass follows recitation of the Rosary. This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.
Wedding
We extend congratulations to both Nuala Conway and Michael Burke who were married on the 28th of June last.
Congrats
We extend congratulations to Niamh Farrell, M.V.B.,M.R.C.V.S who graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon from University College Dublin in June.
Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet in The Hill on Tuesday, the 12th of August at 8.30pm. Fr Aidan Galvin C.M. leader of the Vincentian Order (Mission) will attend the meeting.
Tabel quiz
The Harvest Festival committee hold a table quiz in the Peer Inn, Lisnacusha, this Friday night, the 8th of August at 9.30pm. Tables of four is €40. Proceeds go towards St. Christopher’s Services. Refreshments will be served.
Wedding
We extend congratulations to both Vanessa Kiernan and Eamon Skelly, who were married last Friday, 1st August.
