Public Water Meeting

Right to Water public meeting this Thursday night, December 4th, Community Centre, Granard. This will be the only meeting about the proposed water charges in Co Longford or South Cavan prior to the national march in Dublin on December 10th. Sinn Fein spokesperson on Communication, Energy and Natural Resources Micheal Colreavy TD will address the meeting along with Sinn Fein councillors and recent by-election candidates Martin Kenny from Leitrim and Paul Hogan from Westmeath. Everyone welcome.


Public Meeting

Public meeting in the Park House Hotel on Wednesday, December 3rd at 8pm. Meet with our public representatives to discuss anti social behaviour and lawlessness in the Edgeworthstown and surrounding areas and how we as a community can regain our locality as a safe area in which to live in, to work in, to shop in, to relax in. All are welcome.

Mostrim GAA

Nomination papers are out and every member should have received one by post or email. Forms should be returned by 14th December. There was no jackpot winner in the last Lotto draw. Numbers drawn were 7, 19, 22, 29. Twenty-five euro winners were Sean Powell, Frank Clyne, Willie Monaghan, David Gavin. The Club is planning to create an online version of their Lotto. We are seeking email addresses of people who might be interested in signing on. Emails can be sent to secretary.mostrim.longford@gaa.ie or given to any Club officer.

Scor

Congratulations to Mostrim Wolfe Tones Instrumental Group who won first place in the county instrumental Scor competition which was held in Lanesboro on Sunday last. The group will now go through to the Leinster semi-final in Ballymore on Saturday, 13th December 2014. The members of the group were:- Owen Smith, Ciaran Mulligan, Emma O’Reilly, Aishling O’Reilly and Kate Beirne, and congratulations to Maeve Donnelly who is their mentor.

Joe Callaghan Branch CCE are holding their monthly session in The Goldsmith Inn on Friday, 5th December 2014 beginning at 9.30pm. All musicians welcome. A junior session will also take place on Friday night from 8pm to 9pm in the Community Centre.

Santa in The Green

Santa will be coming to The Green, Edgeworthstown on Sunday, 7th December from 2pm to 5pm. Disco, present, photo and festive goodies. After visiting Santa, make your way up town to see the turning on of the Edgeworthstown Christmas lights.
