The Drumreilly v Dromahair Division 1 game was originally fixed for the latter’s venue, but on request was re-fixed for Páirc Droim Oir Bhealaigh on last Saturday afternoon. The visitors emerged with a 1-12 to 1-9 victory. Drama Festival

Ballinamore’s 33rd Drama Festival will run from March 7th to 16th. John B. Keane’s popular comedy will feature on the opening night, and it will be followed on Saturday night by another comedy “The Hen Night Epiphany”. You are invited to come along and enjoy the plays and enjoy a “cuppa” and a chat. There will be admission concessions for O.A.Ps and students. For a full list of the plays you are asked to consult The Leitrim Observer or the posters in the shops or the Library.

Table Quiz

Drumreilly Foróige Club members request your support for their Table Quiz a fundraiser which will be held in the Community Centre on Saturday March 8th at 9pm after Mass in St. Mary’s. Refreshments will be served.

Recalling February 1993

Mary McKeon led a big field home in the second leg of the Leitrim Road League in the U-10 100 metres event in Manorhamilton. The following players travelled to Fenagh to take part in a County Minor trial: Christopher Mimna, Ollie Maguire and Thomas Connolly. Leitrim, who won against Cavan in a senior League game had to finish the game without Gerard Holahan was forced to retire through injury. Leitrim with sterling performance from Martin McCartin (goalkeeper), Aidan Holahan (defence), Pat Connolly (midfield) scored a convincing against Sligo in the Hastings Cup competition. Nine-A-Side League with a 3-8 to 1-1 win over visiting Bornacoola at Carrickmakeegan. The lineout was Gene Connolly, Christopher Mimna, Thomas Connolly (0-4), Denis Smith, Seán Mitchell, Pádraig Lunney (0-1), Connell McGovern (0-1), Oliver Maguire (2-00 and Noel McGirl (1-2). Sub used: Ciaran Holahan. The death took place in England of Mr. George Wood’s, Crickeen.

Lotto results

There was no Jackpot winner in the Lotto draw held in Shortt’s Bar on Wednesday, February 12th. The numbers drawn were 1, 6, 9 and 26. The cash prizes winners were Declan McCarthy, Hannah Flynn, Seán Corrigan, Tomás Fee, Caoimhe Gaffney, Paul Maguire and Seán Corrigan. The next draw will be held in the Ballymac Inn on this Wednesday, March 26th.

Amateur Drama

All lovers of comedy are asked to pencil in Saturday night March 15th in their diaries. Drumreilly Community Centre with Moth Productions will be hosting John McManus’ much acclaimed comedy “A Lock of Fierce Roars”. “The Quare Land” by the same playwright received a rousing reception at the same venue in a pre-Christmas production.
