Tea Party

Gortletteragh GAA are hosting a fund raising tea party in Js’ Hotel on next Friday night Oct 18th. Admission is €10 and everyone is welcome.

Autumn Club

The next meeting is on Thursday night Oct 17th at 8 pm. Some forthcoming events have to be finalized and all members are requested to come along if possible.

Shoebox Appeal

Sadly Outreach Moldova’s Operation Santa (the shoebox appeal) will not be taking place this year as the recession takes its toll on the charity. Clare McLoughlin (Drumshanbo) and Annmarie McNiff (Keadue) would like to thank all the people and local organisations who over the last 5 years have supported the shoebox appeal and brought such delight to so many children.

New Bishop

We welcome the new Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise, Rev. Francis Duffy who was ordained on Sunday last at a service in St Mary’s Church, Athlone. We wish him well in his ministry with us. We also wish retiring bishop, Colm O’Reilly well in his retirement and thank him for his leadership and for attending to our spiritual needs over his 30 year tenure. Rev. Colm was a bishop of the people and a pleasure to meet.

Rosary Rally and Crusade

Event will be held in Emmet Óg Gaelic football park, Clonee, Killoe, Co Longford on Sunday 13 October 2013 from 3.15/5.45pm, approx 3 miles from Longford town by-pass, signage Ballinalee/Granard road. A number of prominent well known speakers and singers will be present to help inspire everyone on this very special occasion. Everyone is very welcome to this uplifting rally in thanks for favours received and requested. Light refreshments will be served on the day.

Bingo

Bingo will be held in the Community Centre in Newtownforbes on Sunday next October 13th at 3 pm with 2500 euro of prize money.

Harvest night-out

Cloone/Aughavas Group are hosting their Harvest Night-Out tomorrow night Oct 10th. Admission is €7. Supper will be served and music by Country Roads.
