Sincere condolence is extended to the Kilbride families, Aughakilmore, Ballinalee, Co Longford, Donohoe and Sheridan families on the sad bereavement of their mother Mary (Lizzie) (nee Heaney, late of Ennybegs Killoe) in her 93rd year, (predeceased by her husband Michael and daughter Bridgie) who was laid to rest last week. The parish express condolence to her sons Padraig, Frank (Park House Hotel Edgeworthstown), daughter Kathleen (Donohoe), grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters/ sons in law, nephews in law, Fr Simon Cadam PP St Marys Granard, extended families neighbours, friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Colmcille Church Aughnacliffe Co Longford with burial in adjoining cemetery. Mary Lizzie may you rest peacefully.


The Carers association are providing the QQI Fetac level 5 work experience module one day weekly for five weeks and is one of the mandatory modules for the full health award. Further information contact tel 057 9370221.

New baby

Congratulations to Padraig and Natasha Loughrey, Ennybegs on the recent birth of a bouncy baby boy and a welcome friend for proud sibling Kayla. The parish extend good wishes to the proud parents and their families for a future of great health and happiness and another round of sleepless nights. Welcome baby Logan to the community. Deo Gratias!


A hearty congratulations to Emmet Og Killoe football team and their mentors on their well challenged win v Abbeylara. Never fear Junior squad there is always the next time. Well done Declan you fought the good fight between you and your team with all yer might. Congrats.

The parish express condolence to his wife Breda, daughter Helen, sons Niall, Martin, David, sisters Ann, Mary, brothers Denis, James, daughters/ son in law, grandchildren, sisters/ brothers in law, extended families, neighbours, friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Mel’s Cathedral Longford with burial in Ballymacormack cemetery. A truly honourable gentleman Eamon and may you rest peacefully.

Church notes

St Mary’s Ennybegs Masses Wednesday Thursday/ Friday at 10am, Saturday 8pm, Sunday 11am. Exposition blessed sacrament Wednesdays in both churches 6-9pm. First Holy Communion for 2nd class St Theresa’s NS Clontumpher meeting has been arranged for Monday 12 October 2015 at 9pm in St Theresa’s school. St Olivers Cullyfad rosary for the month of October will be recited 15 minutes before Tuesday evening Masses at 8pm.

Cullyfad Bingo

On this very happy and joyous week for our parish, we extend our heartiest congratulations to everyone in Emmet Óg. Well done to our senior team in achieving the coveted two in a row and hard luck to junior team who came so close on the day. Meanwhile, bingo continues this Wednesday night and note the earlier time of 8.30p.m. weekly. €2,120 can be won on the bonus number this Wednesday night with another €1,000 to be won on “Spin the Wheel”. The bingo is a very important financial and social support within our community and if you can volunteer to assist at bingo, your support would be greatly appreciated. Progressive 25 card game continues on Monday nights at 8.30 p.m.

Longford Hospice

A coffee event will take place in Ennybegs Community Centre on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11 after Mass in aid of Longford Hospice. Please support.
