Newtowncashel Tidy Towns Annual Sponsored Nature Walk took place on the May Bank Holiday in ideal conditions on a cool, breezy day in continuous sunshine. The event attracted a high level of participation. The committee thank all who supported and took part, collected sponsorship, sponsored prizes and helped out on the day, and also Cashel GAA Club for the use of their facilities. Results from the day are as follows:

The monthly Tidy Towns meeting takes place in “The Hill” on Wednesday May 11th at 8.30pm. All members are asked to attend please.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
St Mary’s NS Board of Management will meet in the school on Thursday 12th of May at 8.30pm. All members are requested to attend please.
New Roman Missal - Fr Liam Lawton will conduct a Music Workshop in St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes, on Tuesday May 17th at 8.00pm. The cost is €15.00, including music nook and CD. The Second Annual Youth Ministry Conference for Ardagh and Clonmacnois takes place on Saturday May 21st in St Mel’s Pastoral Centre, Longford. The purpose of the conference is to invite young people to dialogue and to both listen and hear the need os the young people of the Diocese. The day is therefore aimed at young people of the Diocese (16 years and over) and also those working with/interested in working with youth ministry. The cost for the day is €30.00 including registration, lunch and refreshments. To register completed application forms must arrive by May 16th. Sports day will be on Friday the 20th May starting at 5.30pm sharp and finishing at no later than 7.30pm. The first events will be in the Under-16 category. Anyone with unwanted medals can donate them for reuse to any member of the committee in the next two weeks.
All those interested in taking part in the swimming competitions please give their name to our Secretary, Emma Murray (086)8654711, as soon as possible. All competitors must be able to swim two lengths of the pool.
Tag Rugby training continues at the GAA pitch at 12.30pm after football training.
Tesco Vouchers may now be dropped in to St Mary’s National School. Vouchers are no longer available at Tesco, and we would be grateful if they could be dropped to the school or to any committee member urgently as we need to return them as soon as possible to claim equipment.
The next Community Games Committee Games meeting will be on Thursday 12th May at 8pm.
CASHEL FOLK GROUP
The Junior Choir will hold a practice in the Church on Saturday 7th from 5.30 – 6.30pm in preparation for Do This in Memory.

GAA coaching for children of all ages continues every Sunday morning at 11.30am in Páirc Ciarán.
The Annual Pioneer Outing takes place on Wednesday July 20th, travelling to Armagh. In addition to Armagh City, with its two cathedrals, the tour will include Navan Fort, Eamhain Mhacha, and Loughgall, birthplace of the Orange Order. The cost is €40, payable when booking. This charge includes coach hire, driver/guide, morning coffee, admission to designated places of interest. It does not include lunch and dinner which are at the discretion of individuals. Badminton continues in “The Hill” on Thursday nights at 9.00pm. New players are always welcome!
The Toddler Group will continues in “The Hill” on Tuesday mornings, from 9.30 – 11.30am. All are welcome!

We are including the following list as essential services---Garda, Fire Brigade, Church, Defibrillator ,Nearest doctor Dr. Farrell, Nearest garage Peter Hanley Motors, Health Centre, Local Shop and filling station, Local Pub Fallon’s, Nearest B/B Woodcutter Lodge. If there is something left out please inform one of the following: Ger Farrell, Christy Hopkins, Peter O’Boyle, Kevin Casey or Mick Casey. It is still a work in progress and efforts to complete all the relevant information are ongoing. Please let all your family members, especially those away from the parish, know about it. We hope that it will help to keep them in touch with our parish.
