There was much sadness and regret in the parish on Friday last when the news became known that Mrs.Breege Drake of Rathbracken had passed to her eternal reward following an illness.Breege was beloved wife of the late John Drake and was dear mother of a family of thirteen children. Breege was one of natures great ladies who possessed a great faith which she and her husband John passed on to each of their children.A kind decent woman Breege loved attending Mass in St.Mary’s in Granard and this she did right up until her health failed and she was no longer fit to do so and then she looked forward to Fr.Simon calling to her on the first Friday.Huge crowds attended her wake in the family home in Rathbracken and her remains were met with a guard of honour from the Ballymore football club, which her late husband John was a founder member,as the hearse made its way up the hill to her beloved St.Mary’s.The church was packed to overflowing on Sunday morning for her funeral Mass and she was laid to rest in Granardkille cemetery. We offer our sincere sympathy to her sons Barney, Seamus, Eamon, John, Michael, Paddy, and David, her daughters Rosin, Anne, Mary, Bernie, Nuala and Breege and their extended families. May she rest in peace.

We offer our sincere and deepest sympathy to the McKeon families Smear and Cornadrung on the sad death of Pat which occurred suddenly last week May he rest in peace.
