Sincere thanks to Fr Fitzpatrick and Fr Cadam for celebrating Mass in the cemetery on Saturday last. In brilliant sunshine there was a large congregation present. We compliment all for having their plots looking so well. We sympathize with Fr Fitzpatrick on the death of his brother Thomas. We express our appreciation to him for making the journey following the funeral which took place in Dublin a few hours earlier.
Commiserations to our U12 and U14 draughts team who were eliminated by Ashbourne at both levels in the Leinster finals on Friday night last. We compliment all children involved and many thanks to Josephine Reilly and John Reilly for their time and effort with all the contestants. Forms have been given out to the local school for the summer camp which will take place at St. Columba’s G.A.A grounds. The annual camp will will run this year from Monday11th August to Friday 15th August for 4 – 7 age group. 8-12 years old will be catered for from Monday18th August to Friday 22nd August. As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday’s night main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are available for €50 by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be very much appreciated each week.
