One Act Drama Festival
10th Annual One Act Drama Festival 2013 will be on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and 17 November 2013 at 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights, 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon in the Corn Mill Theatre. Adjudicator will be Ms Biddy White Lennon who is a noted cook and personality, familiar to many people as Maggie fromThe Riordans. The line up is as follows – Friday night - Ennis Players present The Problem (Open) by A.R. Gurney; Athlone Little Theatre present The Last Crusader (Open) by Barry McKinley; Amphitheatre Co. present Effie’s Burning (Confined) by Valerie Windsor; Saturday night- Corn Mill Theatre Group present Shoebox & Whiskey (Open) by Charles McGuinness; City Limits Productions present Semper Fidelis (Open) by Henry Hudson; Castlemanor Players present Riders to the Sea (Confined) by J.M. Synge; Sunday afternoon- Backstage Theatre present Ritual for Dolls (Open) by George MacEwan Green; Lost Sheep Productions present Drama Darling (Confined) by David Kilgannon; Phoenix Players present The Recognition Scene from Anastasia (Confined) by Marcelle Maurette; On Q Theatre present No More Joe (Open) by Paul Cullen. Sew & Tell
Sew & Tell classes for boys and girls age seven and up starting on Tuesday 19 November from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Percy French Night!
A ‘Percy French’ night to remember by Tish Dunleavy and her group, will be held in Bredagh Old School, Carrigallen on Friday 22 November 2013, starting at 8:30 sharp. Tickets available on the door. All are welcome!
Lotto Results The draw was held on Saturday 9 November 2013 and the numbers drawn on the night were 8,16, 17, and 18. There was no Jackpot winner and the four winners of €50 each were Seamus McManus, Bredagh, Cathriona McManus, Catherine Dolan and Laurence Reilly. Next week’s draw will be held in Charley Farrelly’s Bar on 16 November and the Jackpot will be €9,100. Those in charge on the night will be Marion Lynch, Paddy O’Rourke and Tiernan O’Rourke.
Bingo next Sunday night 17 November in the Community Centre at 8:30pm. Weekly prize money is over €3,000. Lucky number €50 and will increase by €20 each night until won. On Page 9 there is €1,000 for the full house. Please support.

Keep Sunday evening 8 December free and come along to St. George’s Church & Heritage Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon at 8pm for an evening of Gospel, Country, Folk and Christmas Classics presented by the Mohill based ‘Sweet Spirit Gospel Choir’. An original Christmas song composed by the Musical Director Tish Dunleavy will also be premièred on the night. Proceeds of the evening will go to the Alzheimer’s Unit, St. Patrick’s Hospital, Carrick-on-Shannon and the Leitrim/Sligo Special Olympics Fund. Please support.
