5K/10K Fun Walk& Run

This event is organised by St. Columba’s GFC at Derrycasson Wood on this Saturday, 19th September. Registration will take place on the day from 10.30a.m. The entry fee for ordinary runners and walkers is €10. For the more professional who want to be chipped and receive an accurate timing of their progress the charge is €15. The course takes place on a circuit through the well known woods at Derrycasson, following picturesque paths through the former Dopping-Hempenstall estate, and starting and finishing at The Laurels (the grounds of Mullinalaghta G.F.C.) Parking and stewarding will be provided on the day with refreshments for participants after the run at the clubhouse. All are welcome. In order to get proceedings underway on time all are requested to make a special effort to register as early as possible.

Gun Club

Mullinalaghta/Mullahoran Gun Club will hold their annual draw in The Hideaway Bar on Sunday, 1st November. Tickets at €5 each are on sale in local shops or from any club member. 1st prize is a Plasma TV. 2Nd €200. 3rd €100. Your support would be appreciated.

St. Christopher’s Services

The Granard Branch of St. Christopher’s Services is holding a grand raffle fro two tickets for the One Direction’s concert in the 3 Arena in Dublin on Sunday 18th October. Raffle tickets cost €5 each and can be purchased from Super Value, Granard or any committee member. Draw will take place at a function at John V Donohue’s on Saturday 19th September when there will also be other prizes. Hope you will give this great event your support.

Holy Hour

Exposition of the blessed sacrament will be held at St. Columba’s Church every Thursday from 8p.m -9p.m. All are welcome.

Lotto Draw

St. Columba’s G.F.C held their weekly lotto draw on Thursday 10th September. The numbers drawn were 13, 17, 25, 27 with jackpot of €1200 remaining intact. Ladies Footballers

As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday night’s main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2.
