Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to Sheila Simpson, Mulrick, Loch Gowna on the death of her uncle Tom Walsh Kiltyclough, Ballinalee who died suddenly on Tuesday, October 8. His remains were removed from his brother Peter’s residence Kiltyclough on Friday, and following funeral mass in the Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee, burial took place in S. Emer’s Cemetery, Ballinalee. May he rest in peace.
Tea Dance
Arva Active Age Committee invite Loch Gowna Active Age to a tea dance in the Breffni Arms Hotel Arva on Sunday next October 20 from 4 to 7pm.
Progressive ‘25
‘25 card game in St Brigid’s Community Centre every Monday night from 8pm. New players very welcome.
Social Dance Classes
Social dance classes continue in the Piker’s Lodge Hotel every Tuesday night from 8-10pm. No partners needed. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a night of dancing and exercise.
Concert
Cavan Rugby Club choir and local artists in concert in Aughnacliffe Community Centre on Friday, October 18 at 8pm. Proceeds in aid of Columbkille Parish restoration fund (Church of Ireland). Supper served. Please support.
Meeting
Community Alert meeting on Thursday, October 24 in St Brigid’s Community Centre Loch Gowna at 9pm. It is important that everyone attends this meeting as there have been a spate of break-in and robbery’s in the locality recently.
Angling
North Longford Angling Club are having a pike competition on Sunday, October 20 at Gulladoo Lake, from 11am to 5pm.
Congratulations
Heartiest congratulations are extended to the Ballinagh team and their management on winning the 2013 County Final on Sunday last in Breffni Park. Well done to all concerned.
Congratulations also to Northern Gaels Team on winning The Longford County Minor Final on Sunday, October 6.
