Community Games

We had two runners competing in the second weekend of the All Ireland Community Games finals in Athlone. Our first competitor was Rachel Gilligan in the U16 girls 100m. This was a very close and competitive race. Rachel was unfortunate to miss out on a place in the semi-final. Later in the day young Cian O’Donnell took part in the U8 boys 60m. Running a very good race he booked his place in the semi-final on Sunday morning. On what was a very wet morning in Athlone, Cian performed magnificently but was pipped at the post for a place in the final. The was Cian’s first community games and we are sure that it will not be his last. We would like to say well done to all the boys and girls who took part over the last two weekends and throughout the year. Appreciation to all who gave so generously to our church gate collection.
