Longford Women’s Link, Catkins on the Move, is recruiting childcare staff.  Childcare Assistant Department  Catkins on the Move Mobile Childcare Service report to Mobile Childcare Manager, Job Purpose: Aimed at attracting experienced Childcare professionals to join our existing team of experienced childcare staff, the position will involve travelling to and from, setting up, working in and dismantling temporary crèches in addition to working as childcare relief staff in established full time crèches in Co Longford and the surrounding counties as required. Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications required: Qualifications   Have a minimum FETAC level 6 Childcare Award or equivalent. (Consideration will be given to candidates who are nearing completion of their Level 6 Award and who have completed a full Level 5 Award in Childcare). Experience 3 years childcare experience.Previous experience in staff management. Knowledge of the childcare sector, Knowledge of the required Health & Safety and Policy & Procedures standards in a pre-school setting, Knowledge of Preschool Regulations 2006, Knowledge of Siolta and Aistear an advantage. ‘Check it Fits’ Service

The ‘Check it Fits’ Service is a full time, nationwide, free expert service which aims to put parent’s, grandparent’s and guardian’s mind at ease that their child’s car seat is safely and securely fitted in their car. The service is quick, it’s easy, it’s free and it will arrive in Longford where our experts will advise you on how to fix any problem, demonstrate how to fit the restraint correctly and answer any queries participants might have. We will be visiting the following location in Longford in February: SuperValu, Main Street, Edgeworthstown, 5th February 10.00am – 5.30pm.

The annual Clonfin commemoration ceremony

The annual Clonfin commemoration ceremony will take place on this Sunday February 1st starting with Mass for deceased members in St. Mary’s Church in Granard  at 11-30am followed by the ceremony at the site in Clonfin at 3-00pm and refreshments in McElvaney’s, Coolarty afterwards. The organizing committee are looking forward to a large crowd attending and all are welcome.

Parent and Children Playgroup

Edgeworthstown parent and children playgroup runs every Tuesday morning in The Green from 11am till 12.30. Looking for new babies and toddlers to come play with toys and painting. And for mums and dads to have chat over a cuppa.  Ring Caroline 0876418083 for any other details.

Mostrim GAA

AGM held on Friday 23rd. Read full report elsewhere. There was no jackpot winner of the last Lotto. Numbers drawn were 3, 6, 11, 15. Twenty-five euro winners were Kathleen McLoughin, Noel Walsh, Noeleen Burke and Eileen McLoughlin.
