Weather
Weather over the weekend brought an improvement but heavy floods are to be seen all over the district, while fodder for livestock is reported to be getting scarce in some areas.
Presentation
Ballinagh National School held a very successful presentation night with the success of the boys and girls teams in winning both the hurling and football division one titles in their respective codes receiving special recognition while the schools successful swimming and athletic teams were also honoured.
Dinner Dance
The Ballinagh senior football team who last year won for the club it’s first ever senior county football championship will be presented with their championship medals at the clubs annual dinner dance to be held in hotel Kilmore on 12th April.

Se Glath
The Se Glath drama group Drumavaddy are once again returning to the stage with hilarious comedy ‘Out of order’ by Ray Cooney. After threading the boards for the past number of years with notable productions which held audiences spellbound and saw halls crowded to capacity, this years production will, it is believed be the groups best to date and patrons are eagerly looking forward to a top class show with dates and venues to be announced shortly.
Rings final
The final for this years county league in rings is down for decision in the Mullennium Bar, Ballinagh on Sunday next, February 16th at 8pm. The final will be played best of five first to three to 501. Seamus McPhillips will supply the music and refreshments will be served with spot prizes galore and a raffle for valuable prizes. Everyone welcome.
Charity volunteer
Local girl, Shauna Robinson has been chosen as part of the UCD volunteers overseas programme to volunteer in Tontania this coming summer. She will be holding a street collection for this cause on Saturday, 15th February in Ballinagh and your support will be very much appreciated.
Comhaltas
Ballinagh branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann are having a tribute night to honour Seamus Tierney for his great achievements in the All Ireland Fleadh in Derry in 2013, it will be held in Brady’s Lounge on next Saturday, 15th February at 9pm and everyone will be very welcome.
