WORK STARTING ON COMMUNITY PARK: The RCD have started work on the community Park and they are asking all parents to keep their children out of the community field until work is completed. 
This is a Health & Safety issue and there will be large machines working so for the safety of all please make sure your children are aware of the dangers and respect that they have to stay out of the community field until all is finished.

ST MARY’S NATIONAL SCHOOL: Swimming commences on Wednesday, 17th April in Longford Leisure Centre for a six week period. Soccer Blitz is on Thursday, 18th April in Mullingar Athletic, Gainstown. Many thanks to everyone involved in putting up the netting at the school, it is greatly appreciated by both the pupils and the staff. Basketball training for 4th,5th & 6th class has started and will take place every Tuesday, Dean Heffernan is the trainer. A very big thank you to our Parents Association who have given us a donation towards the buses for our school tour, this is very much appreciated.

FINDING FAMILY TREE: Can anyone help with an enquiry from a gentleman searching for his family tree? Tom is trying to find information on a Miss Bridget O’ Donnell [dressmaker] and Bernard O’ Donnell [butcher] who lived in Rathowen in the early 1900s. LOTTO JACKPOT NOW AT €9,200: Tickets can be brought in Rathowen Post Office, Connaughton’s Pub, along with several people selling. If you would like to sell a book please contact Peter or Liz on 6676189. It’s worth buying a ticket and remember if you’re not in you can’t win!!!!!

COMMUNITY TEXT ALERTS: The newly formed Community Alert committee have been hard at work setting up the text alert programme, so if you would like to join and receive Garda Text Alerts, please collect a application form from Rathowen Post Office and drop it back to Angela or Lorraine in the Post Office along with €20 (cover cost of insurance, affiliation to Muire na Tire and texts) for the year. Text alerts will be up and running for the Rathowen Community by April 22nd. Any queries please contact a committee member!!!

LEGAN PARENTS ASSOCIATION: On Sunday 21st April from 12pm at the GAA pitch in Legan the Parents Association are holding a car boot sale in aid of Lenamore National School. For further information please contact 087-6727850. Thank you for your support.
