Recent Death: The death has taken place after a short illness of Mr. Patrick (Paddy) Connolly, Ardunsaghan. He was laid to rest on Thursday last in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Drumlea following Mass of the Resurrection, concelebrated by Fr. Charles Heery P.P. Oughteragh and Fr. Thomas Greenan St Patrick’s Missionary Society, Kiltegan. Sympathy is extended to his wife Nan, sons Pat, Noel, Thomas, Gene and Fintan, his sisters Mae Harte and Margaret McKiernan, his brother Tommy, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, cousins and other relatives. Winning Start: It has been often remarked that there is no underage competition that draws the crowds like the Cumann na mBunscoileanna competitions. On a cold and windy evening on Monday of last week at Páirc Droim Oir Bhealaigh in their first outing the pupils from Creevalea and Drumlea school teams gave their enthusiastic parents and others plenty about which to enthuse. The following did duty for Drumlea: Conor Edwards (1-1), Cian Connolly, Hughie Maguire (4-2), Paul Sutherland, Seán Prior (3-2), Andrew McNiff (1-0), Rory Grassi and Evan Quinn.
Recalling April 1993: Irish Dancers Linda O Reilly, Marian Mulligan, Karl McCartin, Jennifer O’Reilly, Catherine Fee, Rachel Kennedy, Caroline O Reilly were among the medal winners at the C.R.N. Feis in Boyle. Drumreilly seniors dropped League points against Gortletteragh and Drumkeerin Drumlea N.S. team marked their debut in the Schools competition with a 2-14 to 3-6 win over Aughavas N.S. and also accounted for Fenagh and Aughnasheelin.
