Former St Mel’s College, Longford student, Andrew Gallagher, was recently presented with a 2018 Entrance Scholarship at Maynooth University.
Andrew, who is studying Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Chemistry, was accompanied at the ceremony by St Mel's Principal Declan Rowley.
Almost 40 students beginning their studies at Maynooth in 2018 were awarded €1,000 for achieving 550 points or more in their Leaving Certificate examinations.
Maynooth University Open Days take place on Friday and Saturday, November 23 & 24, with free buses organised nationwide on the Saturday.
