National News: Laois towns on flooding red alert
Crews from Laois County Fire and Rescue Service, staff from Laois County Council and the public have been out since early Sunday to prevent flood damage their homes and properties.

Snow melting on the top of the Sleeve Bloom Mountains and a heavy night of rain on Saturday night has caused water to flow rapidly down from the mountains into Laois towns.

This footage captured by Gilly Guilfoyle at the popular Genbarrow Waterfall shows the extent on the raging river as it flows down towards the towns.
