Gardaí investigate 'brazen' Longford afternoon robbery of man in prominent location

t is understood enquiries have been made by gardaí in relation to CCTV in the area

Local gardaí are investigating the brazen robbery of a man in Longford town earlier this week.

The victim was targeted in the Market Square area of the county town just before 3pm on Wednesday.

It is not clear how much or what personal items were taken from the man but Gardaí launched an investigation and are taking statements and gathering information and evidence in relation to the incident.

It is understood enquiries have been made by gardaí in relation to CCTV in the area.

A Garda spokesman said, “Gardaí are investigating an incident of alleged robbery of a man which occurred at Market Square, Longford, occurring on Wednesday the 8th of April.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
