The preliminary hearing was at Longford District Court
Two defendants accused of violent disorder, namely using threatening unlawful violence against another person appeared in Longford District Court last week.
Martin Ward and Mary Lou Stokes, both of 14 Woodlands, Abbeycartron, Longford were before Judge Bernadette Owens charged with the offence at Main Street, Longford on March 9 last.
It is alleged the pair along with others were involved in a disturbance on the street which involved a group of people who are known to each other.
Garda Patrick Fallon gave evidence that two women and a man, which included the two defendants were arrested a short time after the incident.

The court heard Mr Ward and Ms Stokes, both in their 20s, made no reply after they were cautioned and the charges were put to them.
The second arrested woman was detained in a separate garda station.
Judge Bernadette Owens remanded Mr Ward and Ms Stokes on bail with strict conditions, which included residing at the their listed address, informing gardaí of any change in their l circumstances, making no contact directly or indirectly with the injured parties, signing on weekly at Longford Garda Station and staying off social media.
Judge Owens adjourned the case until May 12 next.
