A woman accused of animal neglect is set to appear again before Longford District Court on March 24.
Ms Caroline Geraghty with an address of Apartment 36, Harbour Point in Longford was charged by Garda Shaun Harrison under the Animal Health and Welfare Act.
It is alleged that on January 15, 2025, at Apartment 36, Ms Geraghty was “neglectful or reckless regarding the health or welfare of an animal, namely a grey rabbit (thumper) by failing to provide the rabbit with basic veterinary care.”

Sergeant Mark Mahon said he had summary disposal to give to Diarmuid Quinn, the solicitor acting for the accused. He added he might “need more time on that, there’s a bit more in it, Judge. I think Mr Quinn might want to have a look at it before we proceed.”
Mr Quinn agreed and upon being asked by Judge Bernadette Owens the length of time he would require, requested a date in March.
Judge Owens remanded the accused to appear before her court again on March 24.
