Gardaí have launched a criminal damage investigation following an incident at a county Longford primary school last Wednesday night, July 30.
A break-in occurred at St Mary’s National School in Edgeworthstown after a window was broken.
The incident was reported to Gardaí shortly after 10pm and they rushed to the scene.
It is understood the gathering of CCTV from the school grounds and the surrounding areas in a bid to identify the raiders will be a significant aspect of the Garda investigation.
No arrests had been made by Monday evening but Gardaí said they were continuing their enquiries and it was still early in the investgation.
A Garda spokesperson said they are aware of thr incident and they are investigating the circumstances.
"Gardaí received a report of criminal damage to a premises in Edgeworthstown, county Longford, sometime between 10pm and 10:30pm on July 30th, 2025.
“A window was smashed and investigations are ongoing."
