Great shock and sadness across Longford following death of popular businessman

The Late Gerry McCauley, Leitrim Cross, Newtownforbes, Longford / Mohill, Leitrim

There was great shock and sadness across Longford and beyond when the untimely death of Gerry McCauley occurred on Tuesday, January 28 last.

Gerry was the popular proprietor of the Tyre Warehouse Granard and was very obliging to all his loyal customers.

Gerry was a native of Drumard, Mohill and lived at Leitrim Cross, Newtownforbes with his beloved wife Imelda and daughters Sarah and Niamh. 

Gerry, who was predeceased by his parents Barney and Mary, reposed at Connell’s Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford on Friday, January 31 and removal took place from his home on Saturday, February 1 to St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes, for Funeral Mass. Following Mass, Gerry was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

Sympathy is extended his wife and best friend Imelda, his adored daughters Sarah and Niamh, brothers Michael, Brian and Sean, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many good friends, also his work colleagues and his loyal customers of The Tyre Warehouse, Granard.

The Tyre Warehouse, Granard was closed on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, February 1 as a mark of respect.
