Clean-up continues across Longford in wake of Storm Éowyn with some road closures in place

The clean-up is continuing across county Longford in  the wake of Storm Éowyn with some road closures in place and many roads have been cleared of fallen trees, poles and debris.

Road Closures

Longford County Council wishes to advise of the following Road Closure; L1041 Esker to Dohertys Cross (R194) on 25/01/2025 until approximately 6pm. 

Longford County Council wishes to advise that L-1055 Doherty's Cross to Garvagh is closed due to fallen trees following storm Éowyn. Diversions are in place via Ballinalee.

Resolved - Road Passable

Fallen tree has been reported at L-1139 (Ledwithstown townland). Road status: Passable.

The fallen tree incident previously reported at N63 (Cartronageeragh townland) has now been resolved. Road status: Passable.

The fallen tree incident previously reported at L-5057-0 (Gorteenorna townland) has now been resolved. Road status: Passable.

The fallen tree incident previously reported at L5021 (Currygranny townland) has now been resolved. Road status: Passable.

The fallen pole incident previously reported at L5147 (Corboy townland) has now been resolved. Road status: Passable.

Fallen tree has been reported at Ard Michael (Templemichael Glebe townland). Road status: Passable.

Fallen trees / Road Impassable

Fallen tree has been reported at L10414 (Esker South townland). Road status: Impassable.

Fallen tree has been reported at L50173 (Townparks townland). Road status: Impassable.

Fallen tree has been reported in the Townparks townland. Road status: Impassable.

Fallen tree has been reported at L-1055 (Cavan townland). Road status: Impassable.

Fallen tree has been reported in the Camlisk Beg townland. Road status: Impassable.

Fallen tree has been reported at Aughaboy Lane tree down (Aghaboy townland). Road status: Impassable.
