An application for forfeiture to the State of an e-scooter seized by Gardaí was granted at a recent sitting of Longford District Court.
The Police Property Act applications was in respect of the electronic vehicle seized last year.
The application by a Longford Superintendent was for a vehicle belonging to Bobby Kelly of Cartron Breac, Longford.
Sergeant Mark Mahon told the court the e-scooter at the centre of the application was involved in a road traffic collision.
That Police Property Act sought for seizure of the vehicle to the state. Sgt Mahon said the State had endeavoured to contact Mr Kelly, but the named party had not attended court.
Sgt Mahon said the item has been in Garda possession for 202 days and the storage cost was €15 per day, running up a bill of €3,030. He said the estimated value of the item was €1,000.

Judge Bernadette Owens consented to have the item forfeited to the State.
