There is an outrage in a north Longford community after 'lowlifes' damaged the car park and crashed into the entrance gate of a popular tourist amenity and much used community area.

The Leebeen Park Development group in Aughnacliffe posted photos on their social media pages of significant criminal damage and vandalism at their much admired park.

From the photos it is evident that a vehicle (or possibly more than one vehicle) engaged in a large number of dangerous diffing or donut manoeuvres, while an entrance gate to Leebeen Park was also crashed into.

Leebeen Park Development group described the incident as a 'disgrace and an insult to our entire community'.

Their social media post continued, "Some lowlifes decided to rip up our main car park surface and  proceed to crash into the entrance gate.

"Someone somewhere will have a damaged vehicle at their home, someone will know who it is. Show good conscience.

"Its a disgrace, an absolute insult to the Leebeen Park committee & our volunteers that work so hard to make our Park what it is and further still an insult to our community as a whole.

"Shame on you, whoever you are."
