Maura Higgins made quite the impression during her time in the Jungle. As a late arrival, she spent her first week living in luxury down in the junkyard a secret glamping experience alongside Reverand Richard, or as Maura says ‘“Father”.

Throughout that first week, Maura got to trick the other campmates into thinking she and Father Richard were living in the sticks with no food or beds. She was quite successful in this mission until the resident Sherlock Holmes, Colleen Rooney figured it out. However, Maura may have the makings of an actress.

After moving into the main camp Maura got the unique experience of celebrating her birthday in the Jungle. She woke up to the delightful task of cleaning out the dunny and then closed off her birthday with a trip on the Fright Bus. The birthday delights didn’t end there, however, as everyone opened their suitcases from the bus and got treats and chocolates. Maura got an apple.

She bravely faced all kinds of creatures throughout trials, such as her greatest fear Spiders. Maura crawled through a tunnel of huntsman spiders and their webs all while looking for hidden words beneath them, she got through it however in a great display of bravery. She sang Celine Dion.

Maura’s time in the jungle was not only entertaining but full of heart as she opened up to her campmates throughout her stay.

She left alongside Barry McGuigan last Thursday and was happily greeted with a glass of prosecco feeling like a whole new woman.
