Amble, a band with a 33% Longford interest, have been announced as a 2FM Rising Artists for 2025.

Hailing from Longford (Ross McNerney – formerly Brave Giant), Leitrim, (Oisin McCaffrey) and Sligo, (Robbie Cunningham), Amble has gained a strong following since their debut release Mariner Boy.

They have sold out all their Dublin headliner shows including The Workmans Cellar and The Sugar Club, and a sold-out Irish Tour.

The contemporary folk musicians collided not only for their “mutual grá of music”, but with the aim to tell stories. The trio, who mix the old with the new, have been selling out shows months in advance. Their debut album, The Name, The Face and Body, was released in February 2024. The trio appeared with Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Show earlier this month when they performed perform Mariner Boy.

On Monday 2FM announced the eagerly anticipated list of 2FM Rising Artists for 2025. Chosen each year by a panel of experts, the class of 2025 are Amble, Annie-Dog, BOLD LOVE, CamrinWatsin, Celaviedmai, Cliffords, ESSIRAY, F3miii, Fortúne Igiebor and Pastiche.

All ten selection artists were announced on The Tracy Clifford Show and 2FM will champion them all through the next year with particular focus on the acts unveiling exclusive new music and interviews during Rising Week which takes place from Monday, December 2 to Sunday, 8th December.

Amble have had a phenomenal year and a gig at Backstage Longford last April saw the band add an extra show due to demand.
