Planners give green light for €22 million transformation of award winning Leitrim hotel

The Hanly Castle Hotel Group has received planning permission for a significant expansion of the Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens in County Leitrim with a planned investment of €22 million.

This expansion aims to enhance the existing 4-star Luxury Castle Hotel by adding fifty-one luxurious bedrooms, bringing the total to ninety-five.

This increase in accommodation is designed to attract guests seeking a unique and memorable experience.

The development will also introduce a World-Class Wellness Centre and exclusive Spa, featuring treatment rooms, both indoor and outdoor pools, a new reception area, an additional fine dining restaurant, glazed walkways, and an oak-panelled library.

The group is currently collaborating with its design team and anticipates commencing construction in the coming
months.

In addition to enhancing guest experiences, the expansion is expected to create approximately 140 new jobs across various professional roles contributing to the growth and development of Co. Leitrim, the surrounding counties and the tourism sector.

The group is also committed to restoring the historical outbuildings on the property, applying the same diligence and sensitivity that characterized their previous restoration efforts.
