Longford Leaving Cert Graduate wins best engineering project

Chloe Hopkins, a graduate of Ballymahon Vocational School has been awarded the best Leaving Certificate Engineering Project for ETTA region 4.

ETTA region 4, the Engineering and Technology Teachers Association for Roscommon, Sligo Longford and Leitrim, presented her with this award last Thursday, 17 October in the Roscommon Convent of Mercy. 

Chloe is now one of the hopeful Leaving Cert graduates with a chance to win the ETTA Nationals which will be held in Sligo this coming November.

Chloe is now studying Engineering and Design Graphics Teaching in TUS Athlone/DCU in a new Teaching Course.

According to Ballymahon Vocational School they are the  only school in South Longford that boasts an Engineering Technology option for its students.

The school boasts multiple students who have received the highest engineering scores.

The school will be displaying Chloe’s award winning project on their Open Night taking place on Thursday, 24 October.
