Longford GAA postpone county finals double header as Storm Ashley bears down on country

Longford GAA, at an emergency Management Committee meeting, has decided, in the interests of the safety of spectators and players, to postpone today’s Mulleady Group Intermediate Football Final between Fr Manning Gaels and Sean Connolly's and the Peter Hanley Motors Senior Football Final replay between Colmcille and Abbeylara.

The finals have been rescheduled by the Competitions Control Committee for Saturday next:

Saturday 26 October

Glennon Brothers Pearse Park: Fr. Manning Gaels v Sean Connolly's 1pm

Meanwhile, the AIB Leinster LGFA Club Senior Championship Round 1 clash between Longford Slashers and St Loman's Mullingar, which was due to take place in Michael Fay Park this Sunday afternoon, has also fallen foul of Storm Ashley.

The date for the refixture is this Tuesday, October 22nd, at Michael Fay Park (8pm) with the winners at home to the Dublin champions Kilmacud Crokes in the semi-final on Sunday next, October 27th (2pm).
