South Longford Family Resource Centre host Family Fun Day

Ballymahon Family Fun Day a great success

South Longford Family Resource Centre host Family Fun Day

Bridgeways Family Resource Centre, Ballymahon had its annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 3 which ended our Summer programme with a bang.

Almost 400 people – from those in buggies to grandparents - came along to enjoy the reptiles, magician, face painting, balloon modeling, crafts, our mascots, family photo-booth, refreshments & treats!
Memories were made and our sense of community solidified. Bridgeways was full of fun and everyone really enjoyed their experience.

The family fun day was funded by Longford County Council and Eileen McArdle, Manager Bridgeways FRC thanked Ballymahon Municipal District Cathaoirleach Cllr Pat O'Toole who attended on behalf of the council.
The summer raffle was organised to raise vital funds for activities that Bridgeways run throughout the year and it generated almost €800.
Thank you everyone who entered the raffle and a special thank you to all our sponsors - all proceeds go to Bridgeways FRC. Well done all.

Bridgeways had an amazing summer programme for young people of all ages and of varied interests. It began in the last week of June with Science & Digital Skills Camp for teenagers who were interested in science, digital skills, drama, photography and just doing fun experiments.
Kayaking for the teenagers, Fishing, Trash to Treasure workshops, Toddler sessions, Family Wellness Workshops, 8-12 year old’s camp, 5-7 year old’s camp, Family Day Trip to Dublin Zoo, Meditation & Sound Baths & Pottery with our Longford Westmeath CYPSC Youth Forum Group were just some of the highlights.

Ms McArdle said, “None of this would be possible without our funders; Midlands Science, Longford Westmeath CYPSC, Healthy Ireland, HSE Ireland, Inland Fisheries Ireland, Longford Sports Partnership, Music Generation Longford, Longford County Council, Mental Health Longford and Creative Ireland. We are very grateful to you all.
“Finally, but by no means least, a massive thank you as always to our wonderful staff team and volunteers for all of their hard work not just over the summer but throughout the whole year. We just couldn’t do it without each and everyone of you including our voluntary board of management.”
