One of the region's most loved local food producers, Cullys Craft Bakery if Arva are celebrating a win that acknowledges their exceptional standards.
Judged by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel, the local barker's Multiseed Loaf was awarded a Great Taste 1-star.
The Guild of Fine Food is considered to be the world’s most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme.
The third generation family bakery, Cullys Craft Bakery is named among the top food and drink producers globally this year, picking up the highly prized 1-star great taste award.
The judges ran the rule over 13,672 products in the competition’s rigorous blind judging process.
Cullys Craft Bakery Multiseed Loaf was dubbed “an enticing, nicely baked, well-aerated loaf, rich with seeds and flakes” at the world’s most coveted food and drink awards.
The local favourite is among the 3,938 products awarded a Great Taste 1-star as a ‘food and drink that delivers fantastic flavour’.
There were a further 1,386 awarded a Great Taste 2-star as ‘above and beyond delicious’, and a further 266 were awarded a Great Taste 3-star as ‘extraordinarily tasty food and drink’.
Described as “A good-looking loaf with a great brown colour and an even distribution of seeds”, this Multiseed Loaf was a big hit with the Great Taste judges.
Made with sunflower seeds, brown linseed, pumpkin seeds, wholemeal rye flour, oats, wheat bran, dried wheat sourdough the Multiseed Loaf was one of 5,590 products to receive a Great Taste award in 2024.
Brían Cully from Cullys Craft Bakery spoke of the significance of the award: “We are thrilled to have won a Great Taste award for our Multiseed Loaf. We have dreamt of this moment and are so proud to be adding the prestigious black and gold Great Taste badge of honour to our Loaf.”
Brian said the award is recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers: “I am the third generation of the family to be involved in the bakery so to be where we are today is truly a dream come true.
“Being recognised with a Great Taste 1-star means so much to independent producers such as ourselves, as it makes all the hard work and determination worth it! Great Taste is the most recognised accolade for taste and quality in the food and drink industry, so it’s a huge moment for us,” he concluded.
This year, judging took place over 92 days in Dorset, London and Ireland, with a panel of more than 500 judges putting the products to the test. The line-up saw food and drink products submitted from an extraordinary 115 different countries across the world.
The Multiseed Loaf is available from most local retailers.
