No arrests made as gardaí appeal for witnesses and video footage of Longford shooting incident

Gardaí are appealing for information following the a discharge of a firearm at a residential premises in Longford town on Wednesday evening, July 17.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:50pm.

A man, aged in his 70s, was taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar following the incident. 

His condition is described as serious but stable.

The scene was technically examined last night and earlier today.
 
No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing. 

 
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information on this incident to contact them.
In particular, anyone who was in the Springlawn area between 7.30 – 8pm and any road users who may have video footage.
