A very well attended public meeting took place on Tuesday, July 9 in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee to discuss the maintenance of Killashee Roman Catholic Cemetery.

After initial discussions it was decided that a committee be established to take charge of arranging the maintenance and future enhancement of the grounds.

A number of priorities for the cemetery were noted and will be addressed by the elected executive.

A WhatsApp group was set up and all people owning graves in the cemetery are asked to join the group by contacting Fr Turlough Baxter. This will enable a maintenance rota to be introduced. A Facebook page is also set up to update the community.

The executive held their first meeting on Wednesday, July 17. Updates will be on our Facebook page.

This is a committee of Killashee parish and the workings of the parish and so all activities need to be in compliance with rules of safeguarding, G.D.P.R. and finance. With this in mind Fr Turlough (President), as Administrator of the Parish of Killashee and his successors are deemed as automatic members of this committee.
