Granard’s Agricultural Show
As Granard Agricultural Show nudges closer to its three quarters of a century milestone the official launch for this year's programme takes place tonight, Thursday July 11.
The annual gathering celebrates the links between urban and rural communities and Hazel McVeigh, secretary of the Granard Agricultural Show, said there is great anticipation around the event: “We are having our Show Launch tonight, Thursday July 11, at The Bay Horse (Clancys Bar) on Main Street in Granard. The evening gets underway at around 8.30.”
As usual there is much anticipation around the Show. Horse and pony classes, cattle classes, sheep and goats, a dog show, best dressed lady and gentleman are part of the traditional features of the annual event, but there are a number of recent additions to the programme.
