A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had in the Longford Arms Hotel on Thursday, May 23 as special guests and the staff from Longford College of Further Education (LCFE) celebrated the fantastic learners who graduated from the QQI Level 5 & 6 courses they had successfully completed during 2023/2024.
A large number of learners along with their family and friends attended the glamorous awards ceremony.
Thank you to Cllr Peggy Nolan (Chair of the Board of Management for Templemichael College) who was on hand to present the awards.

On the night, the Peter Murphy Memorial Award was presented to Amanda Fennell who completed the Level 5 Nursing Studies and Level 6 Advanced Business Studies Programme in LCFE.
Amanda delivered an inspirational speech about her journey through education, which included an undergraduate degree in Social Science with a double major in Sociology and Social Policy in Maynooth University.

Amanda also completed a Masters in Rights and Social Policy. She has excelled in this subject and is aiming to work in the area. All the staff in LCFE and the local community are very proud of her achievements.
Thank you to Yvonne Ni Mhurchu, daughter of the late Peter Murphy, who presented the Breadain Feasta to Amanda on behalf of the Murphy Family.
The Beauty Department presented two learners with a student of the year award. These were presented for the commitment and dedication to the courses each learner studied: Student of the Year for Level 6 Advanced Beauty Therapy was awarded to Marika Surkova and Student of the Year Level 5 Beauty was awarded to Dympna Tully.
The staff from LCFE are very proud of each and every one of their learners.
Longford College of Further Education offers a wide range of PLC courses including: Level 5 Nursing & Healthcare, Level 5 Engineering Technology, Level 5 Beauty, Level 6 Advanced Beauty, Complementary Therapies, Level 5 Business Administration with Event Production, Level 5 Business Studies, Level 6 Business, Level 5 Software and Level 5 Psychology with Applied Social Studies. They are very excited to announce that they will be offering a new Level 6 Course – Health Services Supervisory Management Skills, starting in September 2024.

There are many exciting opportunities and progression routes available for learners following successful completion of a level 5 or 6 course in LCFE, these include employment, higher education and travel.
