Service Station robbery hearing this Thursday

A man who appeared in Longford Circuit Court charged in connection with an attempted robbery from a filling station in Longford at the end of last year was arraigned on two counts.

Noel McLoughlin, 32, from Ferefad, Ardagh Road, Longford entered pleas of guilty to the attempted robbery of the Camlin Service Station in Longford town and possession of a 6mm revolver with intent to commit robbery on September 14, 2023.

The defendant had entered a signed plea of guilty in the District Court and confirmed his plea in Circuit Court via video link on Monday (January 9).

Barrister Niall Flynn BL, said his client is in custody and is anxious to have matters dealt with as soon as possible.

Judge Kenneth Connelly directed the preparation of a governor's report and a victim impact statement. He adjourned the matter to this Thursday (January 11).
