With only days left to register, clean-up up events are already taking place across Longford. An Taisce’s National Spring Clean campaign is about to kick off with hundreds of groups organising clean-up events over the coming weeks.

One of the major events taking place in Longford town next week includes an effort to clean up the area by the Springlawn Community Development Group. This will take place on Monday, April 2 next week and those wishing to help out on the day are very welcome to do so.

All volunteers registering for the National Spring Clean campaign will be issued with a free clean up kit which contains information, posters, and colour coded refuse sacks for segregation of waste materials, protective gloves and tabards to keep participants clean.

An Taisce will also liaise with local authorities to ensure that all materials collected will be picked up without charge.  Those who wish to take part should go to the National Spring Clean website at www.nationalspringclean.org of locally contact Seamus on (087) 3749950.
