Gardai in Longford town are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the theft of road safety equipment on the N4 at Aughaduignan at approximately 10.30pm on the evening of Monday, October 8th to come forward.

An articulated lorry had broken down on the side of the road in the area and members of the local Garda Traffic Corp placed traffic cones and flashing blue lights around the area to warn motorists of the vehicle’s presence. A maroon coloured Volkswagen Golf with a 96 D registration then pulled up and removed a number of the lights from the vicinity.

Gardai from Longford Garda Station have expressed extreme concern over the incident which they described as “irresponsible”. If you have any information on this incident, please contact Longford Garda Station on 043-3346741.
