ALERT: Popular travel plug sold to over 40,000 Irish consumers recalled from shops

A popular travel plug sold to over 40,000 Irish consumers is being recalled due to a major safety issue.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Luceco PLC is carrying out a recall on TAVUK Master plug Travel Plugs due to a risk of electric shock.

The Type I Australian socket does not have shutters and as a result gives access to live parts to consumers.

The batch numbers are formatted in Year and Week (eg 19W09) with batches after 19W09 affected (eg 19W10, 23W08).

There are approximately 43,500 affected products in the Republic of Ireland which have been purchased from various retailers.

Customers should stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
