Gardai are appealing for information following two separate break-ins took place in Longford town at the weekend.

The first occurred over the course of Saturday night and Sunday morning when thieves entered the premises of O’Hara’s Garage, along Richmond Street.

A number of items were taken in the raid which gardai believe happened sometime between 5pm on Saturday evening and 2pm on Sunday.

During the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday, meanwhile, a 07 registered black Volkswagen Golf was stolen from a private residence in the Demense area of town. Detectives are working on the understanding the car’s keys were taken from inside the property at around 4:20am as money contained in a wallet was also snatched.

Anyone with information in relation to either of these incidents is asked to contact Longford Garda Station at (043) 3346741.
